A Scottish Countryside Escape

Netherton Farm Lodge has been lovingly made with sustainably sourced Scandinavian pine and is powered by a renewable air source heat system. Relax and enjoy the rustic charm and soft furnishings of our eco-friendly setting.

The lodge is available to book as an entire home stay. Downstairs, you will have the pleasure of dining and relaxing in our light and spacious, kitchen & living area which has underfloor heating and a log burning stove. Upstairs, you’ll drift off to sleep in our luxurious and cosy ensuite bedrooms.

Netherton Farm is a landmark of family-owned Fetternear Estate – a working arable farm. At the heart of the estate are the ancient ruins of the 13th Century Bishops of Aberdeen Summer Palace, surrounded by silver birch woodlands and over two miles of the meandering river Don one of Aberdeenshire’s best wild brown trout waters.

Relax in Comfort, Style and Tranquility

Opened in 2019, you can expect the highest quality of décor and furnishings and you are assured of a heartfelt welcome from your hosts, David and Noëlle, who are both fluent in English & French, and speak some Spanish & Italian.

Our two, king size en-suite bedrooms have underfloor heating in the bathrooms and large-headed showers. The Cévennes room also boasts a luxurious freestanding bathtub.

You will enjoy natural shower products in both rooms and our eco-friendly, Fetternear soaps made with pure honey & wax.

Fishing, Golf, Walks, Castles, Distilleries, and More

Salmon and trout fishing tickets are available from the Estate Office and we have facilities to store waders and fishing rods.

The village of Kemnay is only a three minute drive away (or 25 minute walk through the Estate) and boasts one of the North East’s best local golf courses, along with local shops, a health centre, chemist and post office services.

While in the heart of the countryside, the lodge is well connected. We are just a 15 minute drive from Aberdeen Airport and a 10 – 15 minute drive to Inverurie Train Station.

Meanwhile, the area boasts several resplendent historical sites such as whisky distilleries and Crathes, Drum, Craigievar and Fraser Castles. Not to mention Royal Balmoral under an hour’s drive away. Read more about things to do in the area here.
